The recital will feature selections from a new CD by Perth composer Tony Noakes. The songs include settings of Australian poems (two of them by Aboriginal writers); a cycle on poems written by Thomas Hardy after the death of his first wife; poems by Phyllis Coard when a political prisoner in Grenada; some of U.A. Fanthorpe's quirky Christmas poems, and a selection of ballads and duets. The CD will be launched at the recital.
