An Evening of Song

Starting at 7:30pm

The first concert of 2018 promises to be, quite simply, a beautiful 'Evening of Song'.

ln 2018 Art Song Perth will feature many female composers who deserve wider acknowledgement in the presentation of art song.

We welcome back Brianna Louwen, who has spent a year studying at York University since we last heard her, and she will present songs by Samuel Barber, Rebecca Clarke, and Massenet.

Jonty Coy has also been studying overseas, and this is his debut with Art Song Perth. The Salt Water Ballads of Frederick Keel could have been composed specifically for Jonty and promises to be a splendid performance.

Shania Eliasson also debuts with Art Song Perth and will perform the exquisite Three Songs of Ophelia by Richard Strauss, songs by Fanny Mendelssohn and songs from her family homeland of Norway.

Liam Auhl and Caitlin Rowe will complete the programme with music by Amy Beach and wonderful songs by Alma Mahler.

The singers will be accompanied by Caroline Badnali and Marilyn Phillips.
