Stephanie Gooch
Soprano

Graduating from the Australian Opera Studio with Honours, Stephanie has been travelling between Australia and Germany to perform. She has been a finalist and award winner in many of Australia's major competitions including the Opera Foundation Australia's Audi German Award and Lady Fairfax New York Award, the Acclaim Italian Opera Award, the McDonald's Operatic Aria, the Herald Sun Aria and the Opera and Arts Support Group Scholarship.
 
In 2009 she won the More Than Opera German-Australian Opera Grant. This resulted in her European debut at the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden in 2010. Some of Stephanie’s roles include Contessa Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro), Fiordiligi (Cosi fan tutte) Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel), Antonia (Les contes d'Hoffmann), Drusilla (L’Incoronazione di Poppea), Ilia (Idomeneo), Berta (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Papagena (Die Zauberflöte), Polly Peachum (The Threepenny Opera), Sesto (La Clemenza di Tito) and Echo (Ariadne auf Naxos).

On the concert platform, her repertoire includes Rutter’s Requiem, Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, Vaughan Williams’s Dona Nobis Pacem and Mozart’s Exsultate, jubilate. Recently, her repertoire has broadened to include some musical theatre. Her latest roles include Maria in The Sound of Music and Christine in The Phantom of the Opera.

Stephanie was the 2009 winner of Art Song Perth’s Ralph Thompson Memorial Scholarship.
