Matthew Ward
Matthew graduated from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in 2009 with a Bachelor of Music in Classical Performance.

For West Australian Opera Matthew has understudied the roles of Nanki-Poo in Gilbert and Sullivan's The Mikado and The Rector in Benjamin Britten's Peter Grimes, and performed the role of Mercury in Offenbach's Orpheus in the Underworld.

Matthew has been a member of the West Australian Opera Chorus since 2005, and has performed in seventeen productions.

Other solo roles include Mozart's Requiem (St Georges Cathedral), and Handel's Messiah with the University of Western Australia Choral Society.

His roles in productions with WAAPA include the Chevalier in Poulenc's Dialogues of the Carmelites, Reverend Paris in Robert Ward's The Crucible, the Defendant in Gilbert and Sullivan's Trial by Jury, Flute in Benjamin Britten's A Midsummer Night's Dream, the Englishman in Jacques Ibert's Angelique, and Prince Philippe in Lennox Berkeley's A Dinner Engagement.
