Krystl Ride
Krystl's academic strengths as a child were mathematics and drama and it was only later that she discovered her passion for classical singing and opera. After completing a degree in Built Environment (Architectural Studies) in Queensland, in 2006, she sought to take up drama once again and also begin singing lessons.

Her grandmother Patricia Hemingway, then offered to teach her singing. After six months of lessons, Krystl performed for Babirra Theatre Company as a Bridesmaid in Trial by Jury and one of Sir Joseph Porter's sisters in HMS Pinafore. By the end of the year she had successfully gained a place in the Advanced Diploma of Classical Music at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. During her time at WAAPA she has enjoyed performing in various WAAPA productions as well as other soloist performances around Perth including a guest segment at a Rachmaninov concert at the Government House Ballroom.

Following the completion of her Bachelor of Music (conversion) at WAAPA in June 2011, Krystl will pursue postgraduate studies at the Royal Academy of Music, London, where she has been selected for the Master of Arts Vocal Faculty programme.
