Katherine Goyder

Katherine Goyder is an enthusiastic, 20 year old soprano currently in her 3rd year at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. Her love of music began from a young age, studying trombone and piano in addition to choral studies.

In 2012, Katherine travelled to Ireland, France and Belgium and was the featured vocal soloist for the ANZAC Day memorial services on the Western Front, including the televised Villers Bretenneux Dawn Service.  In the same year, Katherine was the winner of the ANATS Junior Singing Award, the Most Outstanding Junior Vocalist award, and the Most Outstanding Junior Performer award at the North of Perth Music Festival.

Katherine graduated from Churchlands Senior High School as a trombone student, but won the Soprano Award for outstanding leadership and participation in choirs, and was in the top five performers as a WACE Vocalist.

In 2013, after starting studies at WAAPA, Katherine was the recipient of the Michelle Robinson award for the most outstanding first year classical voice student. Her performance accolades include scenes from Britten's Midsummer Night's Dream (Hermia), Hansel and Gretel (Mother) and at the end of May 2015, she will play the title role of Ibert's Angelique.

In May 2015, Katherine will be supporting fellow student, Magda Lisek, in a concert at Government House Ballroom. After graduating, Katherine hopes to continue her studies at WAAPA with a graduate diploma.
