Corinne Cowling

Corinne Cowling graduated with a Bachelor of Music and Graduate Diploma in Classical Voice at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.  In 2013 she was the inaugural recipient of the Dame Mary Gilmore Award for the most promising overall final year female student in Classical Voice.  She was a finalist of the IFAC Australian Singing Competition in 2014 where she won the Guildhall School of Music and Drama award.  Also in 2014 she made her professional debut as Bubikopf in Lost and Found Opera's production of Viktor Ullmann's The Emperor of Atlantis.  Later that year, she won first place at Art Song Perth's Evelyn and Ralph Thompson Memorial Scholarship competition.

Most recently, she was announced as a winner of the 2015 Marten Bequest Travelling Scholarship.  In 2015 Corinne performed Strauss' Vier Lieder Opus 27 with The Orchestra Project under the baton of Christopher Dragon.  Corinne's forthcoming performances with Christopher Dragon include Berlioz's Les nuits d'été with the Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, and 'Classical to Jazz' with the South Side Symphony Orchestra.

At WAAPA, Corinne performed several roles including Gretel in Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel and Angelica in Luigi Ricci's La serva e l'ussero.  Other solo performances include The Youth in Mendelssohn's Elijah, Haydn's The Creation, Handel's Messiah, and Faure's Requiem.  In 2012 Corinne performed in Guy/Doll as part of the Cabaret Soirée series at His Majesty's Theatre, Perth.

She completed a Certificate II in Musical Theatre at WAAPA in 2008 and was a member of Youth Ballet WA.  In 2009 she studied in the Diploma of Dance program at the Koninklijk Conservatorium, Den Haag, performing throughout The Netherlands for the Holland Dance Festival.
