Richard Symons
Born in England, Richard, aged 22, began his singing career at St George's Cathedral as a treble, later graduating to tenor Lay Clerk, and has been a soloist in the St George's Cathedral concert series and recordings. During his time as a chorister he also sang with St Paul's Cathedral Choir, London.

Richard completed his Bachelor of Music at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in 2011, and in 2012 was an Emerging Artist with West Australian Opera, and well as Artist Director of the Giovanni Consort.

Richard is currently studying a Graduate Diploma of Music at WAAPA, where he has previous performed the roles of Lord Petersham, Young Whitehead and the Vicar of Almondsbury in Malcolm Williamson's opera English Eccentrics; Tom Rakewell in a director's-cut version of Stravinsky's The Rake's Progress; Eisenstein in Johann Strauss' opera Die Fledermaus; andLucentio in Hermann Goetz' opera The Taming of the Shrew.

In November 2012 Richard was awarded the Sir Robert Askin Operatic Traveling Scholarship and will pursue further training in New York, whilst also traveling to France, Canada, and England to study.
